HELICOPTER RIDES

OTHER AREA ATTRACTIONS
BACK

It is an incredible way to see the island. Check the local publications for rates. My recommendation is to pick out a few days that you can do a helicopter ride, then call to see if they had any cancellations. Cheaper prices that way. Even cheaper is if you have only 1 person wants to go, or you don't mind taking separate trips as a couple, companies offer great deals to fill just the one seat, call around and ask. Don't buy the videos, they are a waste of money, videos are normally poor quality, and break up a lot, (from personal experience), take your video camera or still camera with you and take your own pictures.

Iao Valley Pick a clear day and visit; take route 30 to Wailuku and turn left at the stop light and follow the signs. This is brimming with history and local lore and you will find it to be one of the real highlights of your exploring, it's a “must see.” Take a lunch.

Road to Hana A must see, stop at your local store and pick up the CD, Plan a whole day for this adventure. You will see incredible sights. Take a camera and a lunch and lots of film or digital cards / batteries.

Take a walk up the 5 miles of glistening white sandy beach that sits steps from your front door. The walk is amazing because there is nothing but nature for 5 miles.

Sunrise at Haleakala Volcano / Crater It's an amazing view, travel early in the AM to make sure you make it on time. Take plenty of blankets, jackets, and wear long pants. It may sound crazy, but it is cold at 10,000 feet.
